Viet Nature Conservation Centre is an autonomous national conservation NGO in Vietnam that has grown from BirdLife’s involvement in over 20 years of programme development and support to civil society in the country. Inheriting the prestigious science base, staff and assets of BirdLife International, Viet Nature continues to build national leadership in the field of conservation in the country. Viet Nature’s works focus on: conservation action on the ground; biodiversity monitoring; linking biodiversity to human well-being and in the context of climate change; conservation science capacity building; and environmental awareness raising and education.

Mission
Viet Nature’s mission is to strive to halt the loss of biodiversity in Vietnam, conserve the integrity and diversity of nature, working with people towards sustainability in the use of natural resources, enhancing Vietnamese people’s quality of life and ensuring the country’s sustainable development.
Areas of operation
Viet Nature’s main registered areas of operation include:
- Research and application of sustainable solutions to such fields as nature and biodiversity conservation; maintaining and restoring fundamental ecological processes and ecosystems; sustainable management and use of natural resources; responses to climate change;
- Building and operating pilot models/areas for biodiversity conservation;
- Science and technology services: provision of consultancy services, critical assessment, evaluation, organizing training, seminars and conferences in the above-mentioned areas of research; dissemination of knowledge and information, raising awareness on biodiversity conservation and ecotourism;
- Cooperation with organizations and individuals in Vietnam and internationally to implement all the above-mentioned tasks of Viet Nature Conservation Centre.
Logo
Using various shades of green, Viet Nature’s logo presents the organization’s mission to strive to halt the loss of biodiversity in Vietnam, conserve the integrity and diversity of nature, working with people towards sustainability in the use of natural resources, enhancing Vietnamese people’s quality of life and ensuring the country’s sustainable development.
The artwork was developed by Mr. Petr Vorasicky, a graphic designer and artist living in Prague, Czech Republic. “The pattern of the veins on the leave is always inspiring because it represents life and the way nature works. Human is just a part of nature and we need to respect the way nature embrace lives on this earth,” Petr explained his idea of using the vein pattern of the leaf in this logo.
